Recently lowered CYA in the pool and changed the settings on the pool calculator. Confused by the FC levels. Pool calculator gives me a range of 3 - 7 with a CYA level of 40. The CYA / Chlorine chart shows a range of 3 - 5. Should I add bleach to maintain a 7 or 5?

Take your pick. The critical thing is to not let it go below 3. How fast you lose FC will determine how high you raise it each time you add some. If you typically lose 2 ppm per day, only raising it to 5 doesn't give you much breathing room if a bunch of dirty, sweaty kids get in.
