thru wall skimmer question #2

got the skimmer today and was looking at it i noticed the seal is grooved u shape for lack of better terms. i take it the pool liner(intex utra frame) goes in between the seal? the directions that came with the skimmer are not to helpful

That is correct.

As George said, it goes between the gasket. It's called a butterfly gasket.

thanks guys is there any need for a silicon sealer to put on it when i assemble it

You shouldn't need anything to get it to seal. I prefer not to use anything unless I have to. The gasket should seal fine without anything on it.
