We have a Coverpool auto cover on our pool (hunter green) that does a fairly decent job of getting the water warmed up - but I was curious to see if anyone uses both an autocover and a solar cover.
I don't think it would make a huge difference. Since most heat loss is from evaporation, an autocover prevents that just as well as a solar cover. How would you get both covers on?
The autocover has a motor to retract, from what i've read on here the solar cover is the bubble type that can just be hand rolled onto/off the pool.
I was just thinking that if the solar cover heated more effectively, I could retract the autocover in the AM before work and roll out the solar cover to catch the daytime rays and then remove the solar cover in the evening and close the autocover.
