Bleach Prices 2012

The IT type of guy that I am, I plugged everyone's price into a spreadsheet to calculate the cost per oz of chlorine (factoring in the percentage) and what I see are prices ranging from $0.15 to $0.37 per oz.

I was in a local Price Cutter supermarket and purchased 8 96 oz jugs of "Always Save" 6% (for 46.08 oz of chlorine) for $10.80, or $0.23 per oz.

I'm going to check out Aldi here in Springfield to see if I can beat that...

So post the spreadsheet!!! LOL!!! Or at least who was $.15/oz, LOL.

I believe that might be in the great state of Minnesota! At 15.6 cents/oz of sodium hypochlorite .
Fleetfarm to be exact, though I haven't checked the price since I posted.

Dollar General here in Northern Alabama has been printing $5 off coupons on all receipts for purchases of $25 of more. The coupons are good the following Saturday. I buy 8 jugs of bleach @ 2.95 of 182oz. Total for bleach is 23.60 I find something for 1.40 to hit $25.

I believe that is a shade under 0.13/oz.

For you I am getting 18.6/(182*0.06*8)= 0.21/oz

That is a good deal...is it really 15%, and is the jug 1 gallon? If it is, your price is $0.104/ounce which is the best I have seen :bowdown:

A new Leslie's opened up here, so I browsed, they have a twin pack of gallon bleach for $11.95, yuk!!
So back to the local pool store where it's $18.01 for 5 gal carboy (12½%) including tax. That's the only thing I get there. The borax comes from grocery store or Target, Mur. acid comes from Lowes.

Menards is selling 12.5% Pool Shock for $4.00 gal buy one get one free so $2.00 gal. not bad, I bought 24 gals. hope it lasts the summer

Ahh, it is 12.5%, but still a great price at $0.125/oz!

I get 4 gal. of 12.5% for $10.99 at a local pool store in MI. That is the special every Monday, normally $12.99. Usually buy 4-5 cases twice a year.

My local Pinch-A-Penny pool supply has 10% 2 1/2 gal. carboy for $4.81 today, that's a good deal out the door for $5.15 with tax! :-D

Close to $5 (after tax) for each, but get a substantial discount when Leslie's does buy 2 get 1 free (at least once a month) and with punch card - get 1 free after 10 punches so equivalent to additional 10% off, unless you go on a double-punch day, then could be a bit more.
