Pump sizing and selection - 16k gal AGP

What would be the right size pump for a 16k gal AGP? The old pump is making a horrid whining/grinding noise and there is water trickling out of where the shaft enters the wet side.

Does anyone have any recommendations on inexpensive but still reliable brands/models? (Seems like the Pentair Dynamo is pretty cheap.)

Also would it be a good idea to get a 2-speed pump if I'm going to be running a SWG?

I'm looking for a pump right now, too.
2 speed is what I'm going for. Running on low for circulation, high for cleaning only. Less energy, lower electricity bills!!

The smallest 2-speed pump you can find is big enough. I think the Dynamo comes in a 3/4 HP two speed.

Everywhere I look the 3/4hp 2-speed is at least $30 more expensive than the 1hp. Is this normal?

The two pumps come from two different vendors so that is not surprising.
