We are going to be replacing our liner this spring. Anyone have any feelings about whether there's much difference between a 20 mil and a 28 mil liner from FOXX?

There's price and durability that they want you to consider.
While price is always something to be considered, the extra durability of a 28 mil liner is dubious as long as the liner is properly installed and cared for!.
By properly installed, I mean that the floor and walls are repaired to a pristine, smooth, condition and NO debris is left behind the liner that may cause undue wear. Also, that the liner is installed correctly, i.e. the corners and transitions matching the pool's shape.
For care, it's a lot chemistry of the water, but you know how to do that from reading here. However, also included is keeping glass, metal and other sharp objects far enough away from the pool so that nothing is introduced to the pool that can wreck the liner. (DON'T allow glass bottles or cups in the pool area and, if you have tables, keep them plastic - also, KEEP the brush, net or vac head ON the pool pole at all times!)
