Nick Curley from sunny South Africa, new to TFP.

    Hi all.
Nick Curley here from Johannesburg South Africa. I have been servicing pools since 1997 when I got sick of the rat race in the construction industry, never looked back. It is the best job as you work outdoors & shorts T-shirt at the pool side.
I agree with all the information I have seen on this site as I have been running my clients pools this way for years, excluding the Bleach and Borates.
This is the only site I have found in my research for my book on looking after pools for the South African public that has the same conclusions that I have experienced in the 15 years I have been in business.
The only problem is there are no decent test kits available here in South Africa, possible business for someone.

    Thanks George N.
I see pools are run fairly differently in America compared to here in South Africa. No Bleach is used here as it is expensive compared to Calhypo which is 65% strength and borax is unheard of. I looked at the washing powders here and none of them state there is Borax in them.

    Welcome.

Different parts of the world have different chems available to them and you have to learn to adjust to what's available. Looks like you've been doing just that.
