Draining pool question

I have a 24' AG pool that has a high level of CYA. I know I need to drain atleast 50% of the water and add fresh water to the pool in order for me to start the cleanup mess and start to the shock process.
I do not have a submergable pump to drain out the water, therefore what is the quickest and easy way of draing that water?
Any suggestions will greatly help.

Welcome to TFP!

When I get heavy rains that require me to drain the pool i just put a few coils of garden hose in the pool then i crimp the hose at water level and pull it over the side, that starts the siphon effect.

Yep, just start a siphon and wait. I use a 75' hose and send the water from my cover down to the lake.

I have used the vacuum hose to drain. I stick it through the skimmer and down to about the level I want to stop at. It's a little harder to get the syphon started, but drains the water way quicker than garden hoses.
