Just curious about everyone's backyard project plans for 2012 ... I've finally gotten off the stick and began a tiled wall mosaic overlooking my pool area. My local pool mosaic contact gave me a great deal on some custom aqua mosaics that I affixed to the house. Having finished the "Fishscape" and frame, I'm now filling the frame with "Water" for lack of a better word. It has been a laborious process ... Enjoy the pics!

Mosaic Progress Continues!

This is more work than I had anticipated! Things are going very slow, but just gotta make sure everything fits correctly.

Wall Mosaic Project ... Starting to look Better!

Been at this for the past 2 months working on just weekends when the weather has been favorable. I'm kinda growing attached to it now that it is on the downhill side of the projcet.

Backyard Mosaic Progress

Here's my progress since my most recent post 2 days ago. As you see, it is slow going ... hoping to be ready to grout after next weekend.

Karl , not to rain in on your blog but for 2 years the "Girls" AKA pink flamingos :-D have been fighting to keep mulch in their home so I finally got inspired and added a concrete border. Here is a pic before

I WANT to get started on my outdoor kitchen this year, but it might be mid summer or even later before I recover enough financially to get it done. Between the pool last year, and taxes and some unexpected expenses this spring... man I am about wiped out.

That mosaic looks like a fine idea. I pitched doing one to the wife but she nixed it saying that it would be "too much" for our back yard. I might try to come up with something more muted for our back yard, I really like the idea of the time and care it took to do that. really nice.

Brentr ... Nice corral for those insane looking birds! Makes edging the grass a breeze

As for the grout color that I chose, I chose a very light smokey gray ... figured I could darken it later if I did not like the lighter shade.

I'll post final grouted-in pics ASAP!

I'm off to make sure my 89 degree pool water is balanced ...
