    From where to buy Lubricant

    where will I find a reasonable O-ring lube/grease? my local pool supply store is selling for $15.00, that is too much, please suggest .

    Try another pool store. A tube should only be a few bucks, and will last a couple years. Leslie's has it on their website for $6.49, but I'm sure shipping will put it above the local price.

    Is there any reason why you can't use plain old o-ring grease you can buy from the plumbing section of a big box store?

    Look for a silicone based lubricant. Petroleum based lubricants will accelerate deterioration of rubber rings.

    Most auto part stores will have silicon lube as well. Just be sure it's pure silicon.

    I bought mine at the home depot in the pool section. It was just a few dollars.

    You should be using Teflon-based lubricants like Magic Lube or the stuff leslies has.
