Hello all,
Looking for your comments.
I currently have a single speed 3/4 hp 115v motor. Looking at swapping in a dual speed 3/4 hp 115v motor.
Looks like the payback period will be about 15 months. ($20 month savings). I don't have any water features.
Currently my pump is putting out about 50gpm.
My turnover time is about 6 hours. I'm looking at running at low speed for 12 hours. It looks like it would be a monthly savings of about $20.
The new motor is about $300 installed that how I came up with 15 month payback.
Anything that I'm over looking?
2 speed hi = 50 gpm so low would be about 25gpm
hi run time 6 hours so low would be 12 hours
electric cost .14 cents KWH.
Motor I'm looking at 12.4 amps high (cost $1.20 (6hrs) day)/ 2.2 amps low ($0.43 (12hrs) day) (monthly $35.94/$12.75) savings of $23.10
I would save the current motor for a backup or possible sell on eBay.
