Aqualink Freeze Protection and Solar Panels

So we have aqualink rs and every time the freeze protection goes on the water goes through the solar panels and now we have a huge leak on our roof. How do we find the change the flow to avoid the solar panels?

Both pipes going to the roof have ball valves. Close both of them. (one has broken wings). Where do you live?

Probably the best thing is to disable the Solar heat and freeze protect programming.


If you close off the ball valves but the pump still runs with the automated valve turned for solar you'll dead head the pump so you also need to disable the automated valve that sits between the pipes that go to and from the solar. Under one end of that valve actuator is a three way switch. When the system is not sending water to solar, put that switch in the middle position which will deactivate it.

Once you fix the leak flip the switch back. If you put it the wrong way then water will flow to the panels when not in solar mode - just flip the switch the other way.
