When programming for continuous operation

My Intelliflo VS uses the least electricity at 750 rpm, using between 100 and 110 watts.

Question: When programming for continuous operation at different speeds during different periods, should a period's start time be the same time as the prior period's stop time, or one minute after that stop time? For example, if Period 1's stop time is 1 pm, should Period 2's start time be 1 pm or 1:01 pm?

The pump uses the least electricity per minute at it's lowest speed. However, it uses the least amount of electricity per gallon pumped, which is the important measure, around 900 to 1,000 RPM.

Sorry, no idea about the clock overlap or not issue.
