Goldline AquaRite No Power LED - Current Limiter Fried

Just thought I'd share this. The local power company fried the current limiter on an aquarite. see black disc on right...

New board costs $200+...new current limiter only $3!

We are replacing the $3 limiter..

btw all other displays are working. fuse is good. this is why. but power led off. and you can see a crack on the limiter and also the connections burnt.

more info on this fix can be found here: http://www.manulabo.com/Hayward/aqrpoweren.htm

I actually have an Aqualogic unit not an Aquarite product but will check this out in the morning. My control unit is also working fine. I may also swap a couple relays around and see if that has any effect too. out. If anyone else has any ideas too I'm all ears. Thanks.

I have done this repair, as FYI, you're going to need a high powered soldering station or gun to remove the old current limiter. I ordered 2 in case it pops again..

This is the topic that you should be looking at: aquarite-not-generating-lights-not-on-t18264.html

Start at page 12 and work your way back. You will find all the information you need to diagnose and fix the current limiter problem...including a link to you YouTube video.

Good luck in getting it fixed.

Re: Goldline AquaRite No Power LED - Current Limiter Fried

Has anyone applied the current limiter replacement solution to a Hayward Pro Logic PL-P-4 motherboard? I have all the same symptoms but the current limiter is yellow and I'm afraid it might not be the same as in the AquaRite systems. Thanks!
