using liquid chlorine 12.5% for you laundry ?:)

Quick question. Not really related to pool, but can't find answer elsewhere.

Pool is closed for the winter, but I still have 1 gal of 2-3 months old 12.5% Austine pool chlorine that I have no use for.

Can I use it in my washer by cutting dose in half? According to washer manual using more then 2/3 of a cup will damage the washer over time. Can I safely use 1/3 of cup of this chlorine instead of the regular bleach? (the manual doesn't specify the strength of the regular bleach, so I guess they assume it is 6%)

Yes you can. Using half as much will equal the same concentration in the washer.

I'd try using 1/4 cup or less. A lot of "laundry bleach" is less than 6%. Much less.

You should dilute it before adding it because that concentration could damage clothes if it directly contacts the fabric.
