When I start my spa the heater kicks on just like it suppose to but after running for 5 minutes or so the water temp reading on the heater unit says the temp is 110 degrees and the heater cuts off. The water is not even warm at this point. It tries to start a few more times and it will not light. After that I get a service message on the heater. Any ideas?

The temp sensor is in the heater itself, so if there's insufficient water through the heater then it could be overheating. Is there a bypass for the heater that's open?
