Floating electric pond skimmer for a pool?

Has anyone thought of or explored the idea of using an electric pond surface skimmer for the sides of a pool where debris collects because of the water flow?

here is one by OASE for example
    http://www.oase-livingwater.com/en_EN/w ... oducts_pi1[product]=157

Flow rate is claimed to be 925 gallons /hour

Downside is that it shouldnt be used when people are in the pool but on a timer, that wouldnt be a problem in my situation.
