Calcium Hardness

Would I be correct to assume that calcium hardness is similiar to cya in respect that it will not get lower because the calcium does not evaporate therefore it will tend to rise eventhough the fill water has a CH level of 250?

A partial drain and refill (with less hard water) is about the only practical way.
