LEAVING IN WEDDING CAKE STEPS?

Has anyone in the northeast closed there pool up and removed there wedding cake step rails and left he steps themselves in the pool during the winter?
If you have can you tell me what you found in the spring or how you made out. If anyone has anything to add i would love to hear from you.

That would not be a good thing to do. I'm in the north east, in PA, and my pool freezes solid. Leaving the steps in means they'll crack and break from the compression of he ice and you'll buy new ones in May.

I agree it would be a bad thing, SW PA here the pool freezes solid in winter and i also think it will crack the steps.
