That's pretty normal (assuming about 1 to 1.5 total Horsepower of the pump). It could be bearings, but it would usually be loud on both speeds. Sometimes one speed can rattle more because the speed is closer to the resonant frequency of the defective bearings.
Is this something that just began happening recently? Was it fine one day and then noticeably loud the next?
It always did make that sound but it has gotten noticably louder over the past few weeks. I am running it more on slow since I am not swimming as much with the cooler weather.
Mine failed in a similar fashion. It got progressively louder over a period of 2 weeks, then last night at 3:30am I was laying in bed listening to the pump and debating whether or not I should start looking for another one, and it suddenly got about 3 times louder. I had to go shut it off so the neighbors could sleep. Unfortunately mine is 2 years old, so I think it is out of warranty.
