New Plaster.....losing water

We just had a total remodel. It was completly filled yesterday and we have been running the pump. The plumbing is all new and was pressure tested. We feel that we are losing more water than we should just from evaporation. I guess my question is Does new plaster absorb some water?

Plaster doesn't absorb enough water for you to be able to notice the effect. You might want to do a bucket test to verify that there really is a leak. Put a bucket filled with water to the same level as the pool on a step and see if the water level in the pool goes down more quickly than the level in the bucket.

NO ... Maybe a gallon per 1000 feet of surface area after completion.. They may have forgot to plug a Hydrostat in a Maindrain bucket... Or there is a tiny flaw around a return pipe or a maindrain bucket...
