winter freeze?

I have an above gronud pool, 2nd year. we added a deck this year and have the ladder/steps attched to the deck. do I need to remove ladder? It's plastic.

I removed different style last year but this mounted right to deck.

oh.. in wisconsin... the older I get the more winter sucks

Yes, you should remove the ladder. The ladder can be bent or even torn right out if it freezes into the ice and then the ice shifts at all (which often happens).
