Trenchless Technology

I have been fighting a leak in my pool for a few weeks now. An underground pipe has been spouting water. Been reading about trenchless technology where no digging is necessary. Has anyone heard of this and are there any disadvantages?

There's always some digging and it only makes sense in relatively long runs.

Thanks. Found the pipe, dug it up, put in new pipe and now no more leak. I am a happy man
