We had our pool re-plumbed about 4 years ago and didn't have the suction PVC pipe attached at the pump area because we bought a shark pool cleaner that plugs into an outlet rather than the suction hole in our pool. They kept the plumbing underground in place, but at the pump area it is capped off. The shark died and we want to have the suction hooked up again. Do I need another pump to go to the suction ? Where do you hook the PVC pipe up to? I have a 1.5 Hayward two speed pump right now for filtering the pool.

You want to plumb the capped pipe to your existing pump input, preferably with a three way valve so you can adjust how much, if any, suction it gets.
