How far can I move the pump from the pool....

We have a Intex 20x48 above ground pool...intex model 635T filter pump and the intex saltwater system. This is our first pool and we didnt think about the layout of the pool and the pumps when we set it up. The pump is currently on the other side of the deck and you have to walk around the pool to use the hose to clean the filter and skimmer. We will have to drain the pool and turn it so the pumps could be closer to the house and would end up being about 6 feet away from the pool. Question is: Will the pump be too far away to work properly?

We also want to run the lines underground and pour a concrete pad over the lines and around a portion of the pool. (If there is any problems with covering the lines like this please let us know!)

Also want to say what a great site this is, love all of the pictures of your pools and setups. Being new pool owners, we had no idea of what could be done. You have given us all kinds of ideas!

Welcome to TFP!

6 feet is fine. With a 635T I would only go about 12-15 feet max. You can go further, up to about 50 feet, if you got a larger pump.

If you are putting pipes under concrete be sure to use rigid PVC.
