Solar cover on or off during shocking?

I developed some green clouds while the pool was covered for a couple days due to cold temps and rain :grrrr: . I brought the FC up to shock levels and had the filter running on high all day. Should I leave the solar cover off tonight or can I put it on?

Leave it off. It allows the combined chlorine to dissipate into the air.

Thanks frog - that makes sense. I just hate loosing the heat . The Pool temp is down to 74F and dropping every day :grrrr:
