Above Ground Pool Steps

I need some help picking one out. I though I liked the wedding cake sort of steps, but I can only fine 2 models available anywhere, and I'm not sure I love either of them. Does anyone here have one? Is your brand sturdy? Do you have algea issues under the ladder? Do you use a pad underneath on the liner?

Oooor, I just use the steps I already have. They look something like this, and we do like them, but I wanted something new to go with the new pool and the new deck. Maybe if anyone has some tricks on making an old one look like new?

I'd stick with the ones you have and use a Magic Eraser to shine them up.
