I just bought two chaise lounges online and the reviews say they are great chairs but they don't weather well. I was thinking of using Thompson Water Seal or some kind of polyurethane. What do you guys recommend? The chairs are some kind of imatation teak and the instructions say to use teak oil every 6 months but the reviews say that is not enough.

Try Penofin for hardwoods. It is a rosewood oil. I have used it on an ipe deck and furniture for years. Just put some on some of that teak fsc wood.
I use Teak oil or "Danish" oil. Both seem to work well. I'd steer clear of varnishes that form a film. They don't work very well as they crack when the wood changes shape with humidity and they trap moisture inside also.
If you want to seal it use a sealer with linseed oil. They work well because it is absorbed into the wood and not superficial.
