Maybe someone here can answer this question, but how is a pool "typed" per ANSI/NSPI standards? The reason I ask is that my state regulations require all inground pools to meet ANSI/NSPI standards. In looking at the standards, there are 6 different types of pools listed, TYPE 0 - TYPE V. Each type has it's own set of depth/angle requirements, but I can't find anything regarding what makes a pool a TYPE "X" pool.
Is it the depth that determines the pool type, or is it the type of pool that determines the depth? I'd like to have a deep end in my pool, but if I have to build it as a diving pool (TYPES I-V), then I'd basically have no shallow end whatsoever due to the slope angle requirements. Ideally, I'd like to build a non-diving pool (TYPE 0) with a deep end, but I can't figure out if that is allowed.
