Is my pool set too high?

So I am essentially doing the contracting of burying a Radiant Metric GT pool. I was worried about digging too deep, so I kept the depth a little high. Because of the grade of the lot, the pool is 7" above grade in the front and 20" above grade in the back. I haven't backfilled yet, but I am worried that since it is sitting that high it may not have that inground look. Did I set it too high or is this something that can be easily fixed with backfilling and grading?

Any chance you could post a picture?
POOL: Intex ultra new in 2014 (32 x 16 x 52) (seasonal; on concrete pad covered with 1.5" extruded or whatever foam insulation sheets - ugly, but comfy); added a through-wall skimmer; I add salt for feel. EQUIPMENT: Pentair SuperFlo pump (1HP, 2SPD); Pentair cartridge filter (200 sq. ft); Pentair MasterTemp natural gas heater (400,000 btu) Climate/Location: Eastern Nebraska

It all depends on your site as to how it'll turn out.
As Crek said, some pics will help.

If you have a big enough space to slope it, it won't look bad. Also the deck will account for some too.

I guess it is water under the bridge, but how would a professional have handled this. Since my yard slopes about a foot over the distance of the pool install? I guess I could have gone 3 inches deeper, but that still would have put me at 4" in front and still 17" at the rear.

I think it looks good, that dirt still has to be leveled out, you could always bring in some extra dirt which isn't that expensive. Plus, if you add a deck or patio, I think it will look great.

You need some elevation to avoid surface water running into the pool. If you are planning a deck, you'll eat up most of that 7". IIRC, the goal on ingrounds in our area is minimum 4" above grade at all points.
