I removed my impeller bc of it was cracked. However I could not remove the shaft seal. It appeared to be stuck to the shaft. In fact it did not appear to be touching the back of the impeller at all (I.e it's stuck in a compressed position). I put the pump back together with the new impeller and left the old seal on. It does not appear to leak. Any ideas how to remove it? Or should I just not mess with it bc it's working.

If it's not leaking I wouldn't tear it back apart just to replace it.
Once you had the impeller off did you pull the seal plate off the motor? Sometimes you have to do that so you can get the seal punched out of it.

No I didn't take the rear seal plate off. I know I'd have to take it off to punch the rear half of the seal off. Problem is the front half of the seal appears to be stuck to the shaft.
