Black Alage After AA Treatment

I love this site. Great tips and I was able to get rid of my metal stains without the pool stores.

Problem is now that I have done the AA treatment I have the black algae showing and per the AA treatment steps I am not supposed to shock for 2 weeks. So should I just keep the FCL 5-8ppm? I am raising it slowing as suggested.

Just keep raising the FC level slowly up to shock level. Just keep increasing FC by 1 or 2 a day. Eventually, you will get up to shock level.

By the by, you can't get actual black algae in a day or two. It takes a long period of low FC levels to allow black algae to get started.
