I'm hoping someone can help me read my CYA ... due to attachment limitations, this will have be broken into two posts.

20 level fill

Filled to the top - not marked lower than 20, but based on the scale, I figure to the top would be around 15 or so???

Now to the questions ... I have added 2 full conditioner bottles, each 3lbs. so by my calcs, this should be in the 40 range by now. I had to compensate for some vac to waste water because of a slight leak around the skimmer that needed fixing, but it should definitely be much more than 10-15, which is what these test results are indicating. Also, the black dot is still present, although nearly gone when filled to the top ... is that enough gone or should it be completely unseen? Last but not least, what might cause the CYA to be so low ... it's like something is consuming the CYA!

When did you add the CYA? It can take a week to show up in test. By the way, when I test, I do it outdoors, back to sun, tube at waist, and fill until I can not see the dot (probably a little past your last pic). Then I put the solution back in the bottle and repeat to see if I am repeatable...I usually am.

That is hot...our heat wave ended last night with some wind, in the low 80's now. I hope you get cooler soon!

I am showing 221 oz. of liquid stabilizer needed according to the poolcalculator. I am assuming that is liquid onces...so it seems to me that you are not adding enough? If the density of your liquid stabilizer is around 1lb/16 oz (approximately the density of water...probably is higher though) then I show you have only raised you CYA to 9 (and maybe lower if the density is higher than water).

Sorry about that, I thought liquid when I read bottles. Liquid stabilizer is calculated on a separate line, that is what showed 48 oz is 9 ppm. I missed the two bottles part as well...ooops.

I agree with 86 oz by weight of dry CYA should give ~ 40 ppm in your pool.
