I asked this here because i did not find a post about it.

I've been told by TFP not to worry about low calcium hardness :)
On the WWW it says otherwise :( can some set me straight on this?

This is what i found:

Swimming pool problems caused by low calcium hardness
Corrosive water
Etching of your pool plaster
Pitting of your pool concrete
Dissolve grout in your pool
Pitting of your pool deck surfaces
Staining of your pool surfaces
Heater failure

:?: Thanks

Re: what problems come with low calcium hardness? any?

You don't have plaster, concrete, grout, a deck or a heater to worry about. I can't imagine how low calcium can stain a liner. Mine is 6 years old with no stains, and my CH is 0.

Yes. No need to be concerned about calcium. We were equally confused in the first 3 years and added calcium to easy set pools, bought a whole second 5# bucket of the stuff before we found BBB and stopped worrying. It's down to 50 now, fill water is <2 unless it comes from the emergency wells.

Anyone want to buy a bucket of calcium? lol

Well, yeah, I could use it. I'm in the process of raising my CH and - wait frogabog -dang it - I can't afford shipping!

LOL, you're about as far away from me as you could possibly get and still be in the states! Might be good, due to the fact that frogs kinda think butterflies are... ummm... tasty!!
