It is fine. Some people recommend getting the SWG and pump separately so they can be replaced/serviced separately, others like the convenience of having them be in one unit.

Wal-Mart has an incredible deal goin on now. You can get the smaller 1600 GPH Sand filter, salt water chlorine generator, and a $50 egift card(can be used online to buy actual gift card they can mail you for free) for $169.
