ORGANIC Additives

I am new to the pool maintenance and trying to figure what works. I been trying to figure out the other stuff that the pool stores trying to sell you. One of the big things Leslies Pools always jumps on is the organic additives known as Pool Perfect. Has anyone used this? Is it really needed? is Phosphate build up something is really a problem? Won't a Shock cure this?

Pool Perfect is an enzyme product for breaking down things that chlorine isn't good at breaking down, like suntan lotion. It is very handy when you have a significant amount of oily buildup in the skimmer, or spill some motor oil in the pool. There is no point in using it at other times.

As for phosphate removers, as long as you maintain appropriate FC levels, it doesn't matter what the phosphate level is. Why spend money and effort on a product that you don't need?
