How are you adding your DE powder, skimmer or filter?

I have been told 2 different ways to add my DE at the same pool store.

So i wanted to ask if there was a right or wrong way to add it. One person told me to put it in the skimmer box and the other told me to put it inside the filter while i had it apart.

If you do put it in the filter does it go inside the filter screen or outside the filter screen or both?

Personaly i have been putting my scoops in the skimmer box and have not had any problems.

I was just curious of how you may add yours.

I believe the standard practice is to dissolve the DE in a bucket of water and add it to the skimmer with the pump running.

    What Siamese said.
I had a thread awhile ago about the method also.
