Hey John! Welcome to a great site. Mind if I ask where in Michigan? I'm in Grand Rapids myself. This is the site to be on if you want to get the most enjoyment out of our too short pool season. Don't let yourself get poolstored like I did for many years. Everyone here will say "get a good test kit" and they are 100% right. I ordered the TF100XL and it was the best investment I have ever made on my pool. I don't have to go get weekly water tests and spend money at the pool store for what turned out to be not so much what I needed. I just add a couple items to my weekend errand list--baking soda, Borax, Muiratic Acid. How easy is that? Much cheaper too!
