    Sand for what purpose?

As a general rule, the brand doesn't matter. What is important is getting sand designed for the purpose you are going to be using it for.

FWIT, I use Lighthouse brand brown sand. As long as it's the right size, I don't care.

    AquaQuartz Pool Filter Sand
    Standard #20 Grade
    High Purity Filter Sand

...so far so good! I got a bag of Leslie's sand once and it looked a little dark/thinner from the Aquaquartz. Don't know if that's good or bad but I'm not putting it in my filter.

I agree i don't think it matters as long as it is labeled pool filter sand. I have Quickrete in my intex and it seems to work just fine !
