Intex 2650 sand filter or Hayward vl40t32????

Looking to add one of these sand filter systems to our pool. Intex 16'x48" Ultra Frame (5000 gallons).

    Here is the Hayward: http://www.poolproducts.com/SPP/prod...=AMAZON&FNM=92
    Here is the Intex: http://www.amazon.com/2650-Gallon-Sa...9396188&sr=8-3

Which filter system would you guys recommend or a different one all together?
I am wanting to be able to run a vacuum as well, any recommendations on a decent one that would work with either of these filter systems?

    Thanks in advance,
    Greg

    Neither of your links work.

Assuming I know which models you are talking about, both of those are fine and about the best you will do in that price range. Getting a larger filter than those is better, but more expensive.

I bought a used WATERWAY 1 hp with a 22" sand filter setup from craigs list locally.
paid $100 spent another $100 rebuilding/fixing it up with new sand.
Works very well for my 15X48.
I did have to add 1 1/2" Hayward fittings to the pool for the hoses.

I went with the Intex as well between these 2 because of double warranty length, more functions on the control valve, larger filter, and higher gph.

I realize this is sort of an old post, but I was interested in how your Intex sand filter is performing. I recently bought the 2650 system and am quite pleased with it. Wondering if yours has given you any problems. Other than the freakin' Intex non-standard fittings, I think it's good bang for the buck. Time will tell if reliability is an issue.
