Next test results after shocking is complete

OK - just finished up with full set of test results after our shocking process has been complete now for the past week. We have what appear to be iron stains (which showed up the 2nd day water was in...but was the least of our worries after our water turned green!)...so wondering how to proceed with balancing water knowing we are going to be doing some spot treatments to our stairs, ladder, cozy cove and returns with Natural Chemistry Stain Free.

FC: 3.0
CC: 0

pH: 7.5
TA: 80
CH: 150
CYA: > 20

1. Should we continue to let our FC go down if we will be using Stain Free or should we maintain our level a bit higher if we will be doing the spot treatments?
2. Does pH need to be raised a bit?
3. Not sure how to read CH since the range is so wide on recommended levels
4. Need to add more CYA since we have not added in about 1.5 weeks.

Bulk ascorbic acid is noticeably less expensive than stain free.

If you are only doing spot treatments then leave FC at normal levels. If you are treating the entire pool then let FC fall some more and add algaecide.

You want the PH low, ideally around 7.2, when treating with ascorbic acid. For spot treatments this isn't as important, but for whole pool treatments it is more important.

Your CH level is fine. Leave CH alone. CYA should be between 30 and 50, though that has nothing to do with the stain treatment.

We are going to try the spot treatments first and see if that works - it's only the white areas of the pool that have the stains (as our liner is protected from them our pool builder stated). Hoping it does not come down to treating the entire pool...but if so, we'll cross that bridge in another week or so

On a separate note, we'll bring CYA up and adjust FC accordingly on CYA levels.
