Just purchased a pool this year (but not a newbie pool owner). Pool pkg came with a 1.5 HP, 70 GPM Power-Flo LX Hayward pump for a 27' round, 54" pool. Is this pump oversized for my pool and if so, to the point that I should be concerned about damage to components? I also have a Hayward cartridge filter...don't recall the specifics of it at the moment. I'm only running my pump for 5 hours a day based on my calculation of how long it should take to cycle through the pool's capacity.
Oversized pump?

That pump is larger than what I would recommend, but it shouldn't cause any damage unless the filter is significantly undersized. It will just use more electricity than you could be using with a smaller pump.
