kblackwell says hi from the Central Valley in California

Just discovered this site. Been struggling with the pool for years - mainly because i didn't appreciate the importance of correct chemistry. just ordered TF100 so there may be hope after all. Thanks to the moderators and others that keep this going.

If you display the usual reaction to a new test kit, your pool should be clearer than you ever thought imaginable within 2 weeks. It's okay, even normal, to test everything every day. Tip: CYA won't change much unless you add more or remove a lot of water, so save that reagent. Only test CYA once a week. After a month, you'll convince yourself it's not changing, and can go longer.

Sparklypoolitis can be contagious, but it is essentially harmless.

Troublefree does not mean Maintenancefree. It's like brushing your teeth: You can spend a couple minutes a day and pennies a week or go to the dentist once a year and spend several thousand dollars.
A pool is like a pet - you have to feed it every day, even the days you don't want to play with it!
