Pressure Testing

In my current/first ever pool build, I have installed more than 1,000feet of pvc pipe. After reading the directions for the pvc glue and primer, I have noticed that all of the cans specifically say "Do not test with air."

How do I test if I cannot use air? With water and air? My local pool builders tell me to just use air.

Because I have so much pipe, I want to be sure there are not any leaks.

Any suggestions?

The best way to test is with water and air. Pressurize with tap water, which will leave a little air in the system. Air alone changes pressure dramatically with temperature, which makes slow leak detection problematic.
