Change from hose to rigid plumbing

I have a soft side above ground pool - not the Intex type; but the semi-permanent type. (In my signature.) I have hoses running from the pump / filter to the pool. I have a slight leak in one; had to change the other one last year because of leaks. These hoses are relatively expensive. Is there any reason not to use rigid PVC instead of the hoses with a soft side pool? (Will post pic later today, am at work right now.)

The only problem with a soft sided pool and hard piping is that when people are in the pool the sides move so that would stress the pool and the plumbing. You're probably better off staying with at least a short section of hose. You can buy suction rated hose at one of the big box stores that would probably work.
