Help! Filter is simultaneously filtering and backwashing!?

Local pool co just replaced the filter dome on my Hayward DE filter due to a leak. I noticed water was low so I shock and add water. Continue to notice my water level isn't rising and go to find out that water is pouring out of the end of my backwash pipe, although my spider gear is set on filter and pool is running normally with return jets and filter working.

Please help!?

Welcome to TFP!

There must be something wrong with the multi-port valve. It might be as simple as replacing the spider gasket, or there might be something more serious wrong with it.
