Help!!!!! we have a 20x40 double roman Inground vinyl liner pool that is 3 years old. 2 skimmers, main drain and 1 light. 5 foot retaining wall on side furthest from pump. Last fall we had all concrete decking and cantilever coping removed due to excessive settling (looked like a roller coaster in some spots); have not put new concrete deck down to allow for more settling since our builder backfilled with dirt and some gravel but mostly dirt on retaining wall side. To make a long story short we have suspected leak since pool deck was poured and we were dumb enough to believe our pool guy that an inch of water loss a day is normal. Took matters into our own hands and went looking for leak since no concrete.
Findings:
1: Hayward light body had large crack on top---applied two part epoxy that is holding for now
2: Water still evident in this area even with light fixed on outside wall of pool
3: 1 inch water loss in 12 hours with light fixed , dye test did not show significant findings
4: Skimmer closest to pump is sucking tremendous amount of air even though adequate water level present
; Other skimmer is not doing this, just happened over night
5: Excessive bubbles only in step jets (2) and not other jets (2) or thing you hook auto vacuum line to (sorry i don't know the term) ; running on main drain now with skimmers closed --bubbles still in step jets
Note to self: You get what you pay for, it only costs you more in the long run
What is going on????? We are ready to fill this night mare in with dirt
