    Water turned Green

I recently installed a SWG in my pool. The Baquacil was getting far too expensive. I have my salt in the pool a bit high but will be fine as I've been told. But, there was no FC in the pool and was instructed to shock. I diluted two pounds of shock in water and poured directly into the skimmer. Immediately, the water returning to the pool was cloudy and green. I have the SWG shut down at this time but should I keep in runnnig as well? Does anyone have any idea as to what may have caused this condition?

    Welcome to TFP!

If you were using baquacil before, have you gone through a baquacil conversion? There is a whole process required to switch from baquacil, you can read about it here.
