Hi, Very new pool owner and my first post got me miles. Thanks to all.

I have achived shock level with 0 CC and a ph of 7.8.

After learning of CYA levels and gaining a 35-40 reading I made the mistake of vacuuming the pool and pinning the filter. The conditioner lable wned not to back wash for 48 hours it has only been 24. My question is would I be better served by backwashing and allowing the filter to work efficienly or let the conitioner work through the system.

Thanks

It is a cost issue more than anything. If you backwash now you will lose a fair bit of CYA, which will need to be replaces, which costs something. If you wait another 24 hours, nothing will really go wrong, it will just take longer to clear up the water. So is faster clearing water worth the cost of losing perhaps 1/3 of your CYA?
