SaltWater Pools & What We Would Need to start!

We have a 15' x 3.5' 4,000 gallon above ground Summer Escapes pool from walmart! We are in the process of getting our pool balanced out & getting our chlorine problem where it needs to be. Eventually we are gona turn it into a saltwater pool after we finish using up all the stuff we bought for it now because we have heard it is way easier to take care of & way better for you. we have been getting several opinions on turning it into salwater & not sure which is correct. some have said we would have to get a whole new saltwater pump for the pool to turn into saltwater for the stuff to filter through. then some have said no that the small pump that came with the pool is good eneough we just need the bag of salt for the pool & we would be fine! please help cause my husband wanted me to find out some info for when we do decide to go saltwater down the road.

Thank you :)

A saltwater pool is a chlorine pool. You do not need a new pump, but you will need a saltwater chlorine generator (SWCG). You will have to add enough salt to raise the salinity to where the SWCG can produce chlorine...one bag may not do it.
